Stamford Mercury 27 Jan 1737: Dr Barnwell's horse supposed to be stolen
Supposed to be stolen from Mr. Godfrey’s near Epsom, Surrey, the 15th of this Instant January, a Scotch-grey Pad, about 13 Hands high, very remarkably strong, having a short Back, with very thick Fat Legs, his Mane is cut off, and, what they call, Porcupined, except a Lock to get up by. If any Body will give Notice of him, so as he may be had again (to Doctor Barnwell at Trumpington near Cambridge, or to Mr. Holloway at the Sign of the Coach and Horses in St. Martin’s-Lane, London, or to Mr. Snow of Stamford, he shall have two Guineas Reward.
