Cambridge Chronicle 8 Jan 1763: Bransom Haggis attacked by foot-pads
Last night between 7 and 8 o'clock as Bransham (sic) Haggis, collar-maker of Trumpington, was returning from Hauxton Mills, he was attacked by two foot-pads, who searched his pockets, and not finding any money, they stripped him of two coats, hat and shoes, but afterwards returned him one of the coats. Haggis had just before accidentally dropped three guineas as he was putting them into his pocket, which was found by the keeper of the turnpike
