Cambridge Chronicle 6 Oct 1820: Beales farm for ploughing match
CAMBRIDGESHIREAGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The next General Meeting of this Society will be held at the Eagle Inn, in Cambridge, on Friday the 13th day of October next.
The PLOUGHING MATCHES to commence precisely at 11 o’cock. The quantity of land to be ploughed will be one rood for each, upon a piece of clover land belonging to S. P. Beales Esq. on his College Farm at Trumpington to which there is access either from the Hills of Trumpington road.
The General Committee are requested to meet at the Eagle Inn, immediately after the ter-mination of the Ploughing, for the purpose of revising, and confirming or amending the subsisting Rules, to propose the Premiums for the ensuing year, audit the Treasurer’s Accounts, and consider of any other matter which may come before them relating to the Society - to be afterwards submit-ted to the General Meeting.
Dinner to be on the table at 3 o’clock - after which, the Premiums of Plate adjudged at the last Annual Meeting, will be presented by the Chairman to the successful Candidates.
Tickets to be had at the Bar of the Eagle.

N.B. — The Subscriptions in arrear and due in June last, are requested to be paid to Messrs. Fisher and Son, the Treasurers, previous to the Meeting.
