Cambridge Chronicle 19 Apr 1822: Henry Howard killed by coach
On Saturday last, as the Wisbech coach was proceeding to London, on passing through the village of Trumpington, at a moderate place, where several children were at play, one of them, named Henry Howard, about four years of age, in attempting to cross the road, unfortunately ran against the horses, and fell down, when the wheel passed over him, and he was so much hurt that he expired in half an hour. An inquest was held on view of the body, before John Ingle, Esq. coroner, and the jury returned a verdict of accidental death, with a deodand of 5s on the wheels. No blame, whatever, is attributed to the driver.
