Huntingdon Bedford and Peterborough Gazette 20 Nov 1830: House (future Tally Ho) and land for sale
TRUMPINGTON.
Excellent DWELLING HOUSE,
COTTAGE, BARN, TWO GARDENS, PADDOCK,
And CLOSE of PASTURE.
TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION,
BY JOHN SWAN,
At the Green Man, Trumpington, on TUESDAY, Nov. 25, 1830, at 7 o’clock in the evening, subject to such conditions of sale as will be then produced, in two lots;
LOT 1. All that large substantial-built Timber & Tiled DWELLING HOUSE, with Palisadoes, small Garden, Poplar Trees in front, large Oven, and Offices adjoining. Also, a COTTAGE near, with Barn, 2 Gardens, and Paddock behind; the whole containing upwards of One Acre; as now in the occupation of Messrs. Brooks and Howard, respectable tenants at will.
The above is presumed to be very advantageously adapted for a public-house, or for the Baking Business, the latter having been carried on there for many years; and, being adjoining to the London Road, renders it a most desirable situation for either of the above trades.
LOT 2. All that luxuriant CLOSE of ARABLE LAND, containing 1A. 1R. 25P. (chain measure) adjoining the New Road, leading from Trumpington to Gog Magog Hills, opposite the Windmill, enclosed by a capital thriving quick; as now let to Mr. Ward, a respectable tenant at will.
The above is admirably adapted for building upon, and is nearly adjoining the London Road.
Copyhold of the Manor of Arnold in Trumpington, and Tythe-Free.
May be viewed at any time before the sale, by permission of the respective tenants.
