Bury and Norwich Post 23 Mar 1836: William Wallis guilty of stealing sheep
Wm. Wallis, for stealing a sheep from F. Pemberton, Esq. of Trumpington, was sentenced to be transported for life; but being recommended to mercy on account of his previous good character, the Judge said he could exercise a discretion in mitigating the punishment, and would convey the recommendation to the Secretary of State.
