Cambridge Chronicle 13 Feb 1847: William Hockley charged with assault; Edward Wilson guilty of injuring thatch

William Hockley, of Trumpington, miller, was charged by his wife with assaulting and beating her. The magistrates ordered the defendant to enter into sureties to keep the peace for a month.
Edward Wilson, of Trumpington, labourer, was charged by William Skinner, of the same place, with injuring the thatch on his house, and throwing a brick down the chimney, and putting a cloth over it, which caused the soot and smoke to descend into the room below. The magistrates fined the defendant 6d. and 11s. expenses.
