Cambridge Independent Press 2 Dec 1848: Snares for hares on Pemberton land
Three young men named Haynes, Jackson, and Rayment, were charged with setting snares for hares in the parish of Trumpington. — Jas. Smith stated that as he was watching Col. Pemberton’s plantation, on Sunday last, he saw Rayment and two others, names Jackson and Haynes, come in the plantation; he and Wilson seized them, and found ten snares and a dog upon the two latter, but not anything upon Rayment. Fined £1. and 13s. expences each.
