Cambridge General Advertiser 28 Mar 1849: Fowls stolen from Mr Fromant

GRANTCHESTER — Heartless Robberies. — On Tuesday night last some villains robbed a poor old widow, named Northropp, residing next the Green Man Inn, at this place, of eight fowls, being all her stock but one. The heads and feathers were found next morning in a field by the side of the road leading from Grantchester to Trumpington. The loss in a case like this is most severely felt, as it has deprived her of the means of a few daily pence at this season of the year. — On Saturday last, the house of Mr. Lawson, of the Blue Ball Inn, at this place, was broken open, and a score of fowls stolen. There is no doubt that the same parties, on the same night, stole all the fowls belonging to Mr. Fromant, wheelwright, Trumpington.
