Stamford Mercury 29 Apr 1853: injury after drinking at the Red Lion
A bookbinder on tramp, after drinking ale at the Red Lion inn, Trumpington, Cambs, left without paying for it. He was followed, and the person who went after him attempted to take him back to the inn. A scuffle ensued, and an open knife which the tramp had about his person entered one of his thighs, which it cut very severely. The man was at once conveyed to Cambridge Hospital in a cart in a fainting state from loss of blood.
