Cambridge Independent Press 2 Aug 1856: Thomas Neeves guilty of setting snare

TRUMPINGTON. — Thomas Neeves, of this village, was charged with having set a snare for the purpose of catching game, upon land belonging to Mr. John Maris, on the 13th inst. The defendant admitted the charge, but begged to be relieved from punishment by confinement in prison. He having been convicted before, upon a similar charge, he was ordered to pay a fine of £2 and costs, or six weeks’ imprisonment.
