Cambridge Independent Press 24 Dec 1859: Cawcutt Christmas sheep for sale
Mr. Wm. Palmer made his grand display, as usual, on Wednesday night. The shop was decorated with evergreens, and well lighted with gas, and hundreds of persons visited the place. Mr. Palmer slaughtered 3 Scots, grazed by himself, averaging 80 stone each. These were exhibited at the Corn Exchange on Saturday last; also a Short-horn, of his own grazing, weighing 100 stone; and another Short-horn, grazed by himself, weighing 100 stone. Besides these, he slaughtered 16 fine oxen, weighing from 80 to 90 stone; also 50 fine Leicester sheep, grazed by Mr. Cawcutt, of Trumpington.
