Cambridge Chronicle 2 Jun 1861: asault on Henry Cain, toll-collector

FRIDAY.

Richard Bradford, brewer Fitzroy-street, was charged with assaulting Henry Cain, toll-collector, Trumpington-road, on Tuesday. It appeared that complainant on the day in question demanded 2d. toll from defendant, which the latter refused to pay, saying he belonged to Cambridge. Complainant said he knew that the cart and horse belonged to a Trumpington gentleman and he would have the money. - Defendant said he would not, and knocked complainant down. - Fined 2s 6d and costs, or seven days.
