Cambridge Independent Press 27 May 1865: Rayner and Marshall charged with stealing

THURSDAY. — Before the Mayor, E. Smith and R. M. Fawcett Esqrs.

ROBBING AT THE RAILWAY. — Simeon Rayner and El. Marshall, both of Trumpington, horse-drivers at the Great Eastern Railway Station, at Cambridge, were charged with stealing plates, dishes, and a couple of mackerell [sic] this morning, from one of the trucks at the Railway. Suspicion had fallen upon them, and as they were proceeding home from their work, they were stopped, and in their baskets were the articles in question. They were remanded till the next day.
