Cambridge Chronicle 24 Jul 1869: George Hutt burgled

TRUMPINGTON. - House breaking. —On Tuesday night last or very early on Wednesday morning, July 21st, some thief or thieves entered the dwelling house of Mr. G. E. Hutt, schoolmaster of this village, and stole therefrom wearing apparel, food, money, &c., to the amount of a few pounds. It is thought the rogues were disturbed by some of the family (who were in the room just above the window where the entrance was made), as some valuable articles were found on the mat of the back door, which was left wide open. The things in all the cupboards of the rooms in the ground floor were overhauled, and many of them scattered about. The police are on the alert.
