Cambridge Independent Press 10 Jul 1886: Infield wool sale

Huntingdon Wool Fair. – This annual fair took pace on Wednesday, on the Common, near the Walks, where it has been held every year since its establishment in the year 1854. It reached its climax in 1870 when the largest quantity of wool was pitched, and since that date the decrease has been steady, the present, in point of weight, being the smallest fair ever held. The pitching and weighing was superintended by the committee, and the following are among the largest growers of wool:-

Mr. W. Infield, Trumpington ……………… 1669 Fleeces

Mr. G. O. Newton, Croxton Park … 620
