Cambridge Independent Press 12 Jul 1890: George Burns assaulted William Lilley

ASSAULT AT TRUMPINGTON,

George Burns, a labourer, of Trumpington, was charged with having assaulted William Lilley, a gardener, also of Trumpington, on the 28th June. — The defendant pleaded guilty. — The complainant stated that while looking at some amusements at the feast a little past eleven o’clock on the evening in question, the defendant came up and said, “You are the ——- that killed my cat,” and struck him on the head. — The Magistrates imposed a fine of 2s. 6d. and costs.
