Cambridge Chronicle 8 May 1896: Schools inspections
TRUMPINGTON. – SCHOOLS – The Managers of these schools, which were excused the annual examination, but were inspected under Article 84 (b) have just received the Government Report.It is as follows: - Mixed School – “Mr Hutt continues to work conscientiously and well in this school. Tone and discipline are excellent and good progress has been made. A fuller record of work done might with advantage be kept.” Infants’ School – “Thoroughly good work continues to be done in this school. Spelling and arithmetic continue to deserve special praise. Tone and discipline are excellent.” The grant per head in the Mixed School was £1 0s. 6d., in the Infants’ School 16s. 6d. The drawing of the boys was reported by the Science and Art Department as “Good.”
