Cambridge Independent Press 14 Apr 1899: Edwin Arthur Marshall cycle accident
CYCLING ACCIDENTS — On Monday evening Mr. Joseph Probert, manager of Messrs. Fletcher and Co., butchers, of Peas-Hill, met with an accident whilst cycling on the Hills-road Bridge. The mud-guard of his machine became detached near the fork, and dropped on to the shell, causing the rider to fall to the ground. His lip was badly cut, and was attended to by Dr. Lucas. — On Tuesday evening, between five and six o’clock, Mr. E.A. Marshall, licensed victualler, of Trumpington, also met with an accident. He fell from his machine on the Trumpington-road, cutting his head and chin severely, and bruising his face. He was conveyed to the Hospital, and after his injuries had been attended to, was driven home. It appears that his fall was due to weakness, he having only just recovered from a serious illness.
