DOCTOR CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER.

Sequel to Death of Lady’s Maid.

REMANDED AT POLICE COURT.

London, Tuesday.

The magistrate at the South Western Police Court, London, to-day remanded until October 25th, Dr. Daniel Evans Powell (56), of High-street, Tooting, and Mrs. Etta Motteram (61), of Nightingale-lane, Balham, were charged with the manslaughter of Gladys Taylor, a lady’s maid, of Trumpington, Cambs.

Chief Inspector Berrett, of Scotland Yard, said he saw Dr. Powell and Mrs. Motteram at the Battersea Coroner’s Court yesterday, cautioned them, and told them that as the result of inquiries against them he would arrest them and charge them with causing the death of Gladys Taylor on August 6th. They both replied not guilty. At the police station, when the charge was read over to them, they again said not guilty.

Bail was allowed.
