The proposed Cambridge town planning scheme envisages a ring road to encircle the whole town with the construction of by-pass roads and the improvement of dangerous junctions. The level crossings on the Milton and Cherry Hinton roads will be replaced with bridges. An area of 190 acres on Milton Road opposite the sewage farm acres is reserved for a municipal aerodrome with a municipal golf course off Trumpington Road
