Over 300 family members and friends gathered to attend the funeral service for Philip Henry Gibbons at St Luke's Church, Holton-Le-Moor.
The Rev Peter Green officiated. John Tusting OBE gave the address.
Philip was born in Hartlebury, Hereford and Worcester. He spent his two years National Service in the 15/19th Hussars. He gained a degree in Agriculture at Magdalene College, Cambridge and worked as Farms Manager for Bidwells, Cambridge.
In 1957 he married Vanessa Milles and they had four children: Jonathan, Anthony, Nicola and Timothy, who in turn gave them 12 grandchildren.
Following the death of George Dixon in 1973, they moved to The Hall, Holton-Le-Moor, where Philip farmed and managed the Estate. He was also the Chairman of Woldmarsh and Woldgrain Storage farming cooperatives.
In 1995, Philip retired from farming, but continued to manage the property and woodland up until his death.
Philip served as a magistrate to the Caistor Bench from 1975 to 2002, was Chairman of Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association, President of the Lincolnshire Country Landowners' Association (CLA), High Sheriff of Lincolnshire (1986-1987), Deputy Lieutenant (1994), Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies (2002) and Master of the Worshipful Company of Farmers (2003-2004).
He died aged 75 years in Lincoln County Hospital
