Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan, 3rd Bt. was born on 28 October 1870. He is the son of Sir George Otto Trevelyan, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Philips. He married Mary Katharine Bell, daughter of Sir Thomas Hugh Bell, 2nd Bt. and Florence Eveleen Eleanor Olliffe, on 6 January 1904. He died on 24 January 1958 at age 87.
He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) Northumberland. He was also known as 3rd Baronet [U.K. Life Peer]. He was Harrow and Trin College Cambridge Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) , Master of Arts (M.A.) 1896), Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Lib) Yorkshire Elland 1899-1918 and Newcastle-upon-Tyne Centl 1922-31, Private Sec to Ld-Lt Ireland 1892-95, Parly Charity Commis in 1892. He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1924. He was Pres Northumberland and Durham Assoc in London , Honour Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) Durham 1929 in 1936
