Notes for: Henry Harradine

Inherited land from his brother William in 1818.
After his death, sold the land and buildings inherited from his mother as follows.

To be SOLD by AUCTION, by J. WENTWORTH, at the Green Man inn, TRUMPINGTON, on WEDNESDAY, July 22nd, 1840, at Seven o’clock in the Evening,
The following Growing Crops of CORN, with the STRAW and HAULM,
The property of the late Mr. HENRY HARRADINE:
Lot. 1. - One Acre and a half of WHEAT, more or less. 2. - Two Acres of BARLEY, ditto. 3. - Half-an-Acre of DITTO, ditto. 4. - One Acre of OATS, ditto.

Newspaper Advertisement in the Cambridge Independent Press, 19 Sep 1840, reads:
Seven Acres of Land, extensive Homestall, DWELLING-HOUSE, etc., to be sold by auction, by Joseph Wentworth.
At the Green Man Inn, Trumpington, on Wednesday September 23rd, 1840, at six o'clock in the evening, in one lot;
The following very compact ESTATE, comprising a brick & slate DWELLING-HOUSE, fronting the road, and adjoining Mr. Cumming's premises, together with large farm-yard, double barn, stables and outhouses, garden, paddock, and Allotment of excellent Arable LAND attached, the whole containing 7A 1R 0P (more or less). With the timber and other trees included - Copyhold of the Manor of Arnold's in Trumpington.
Quit-Rent 4s 4d - Land-Tax 16s 2d.
The above valuable Property is very desirably situated at the entrance to the village nearest Cambridge, facing the London Road, and is capable of vast improvement; it offers many advantages to persons about to retire from business, who may wish to be within an easy walking distance of the town; approachable in all weathers by a good causeway.
