CAMBRIDGE DIVISION PETTY SESSIONS
SATURDAY. - Before I.H. Wilkinson, J.H. Law Esqs., and the Rev. F. Shaw.
COMBERTON. - James Parker, groom, of Trumpington, was charged with stealing strawberries, value 2d., and a cabbage, value 1d., the property of Mr. Bonnett, farmer, of Comberton, on June 17. - Mr. GRAIN appeared for the prosecution and Mr. P. ADCOCK for the defendant. - It was admitted on behalf of the prisoner that the cabbage and two strawberries were taken; but Mr. ADCOCK (after the prosecution for stealing eggs a fortnight ago) characterised this prosecution as a persecution of the defendant who had hitherto borne a good character, and would prevent him from obtaining a respectable situation in future. - Fined 10/6 and costs, making a total of £1/12/3.
