In 1776, the following was recited in the release of property from Mrs Ann Wells and Mrs Mary Fisher to Rev Samuel Peck (document in Trumpington Hall archives).

Whereas the said Sarah Aungier in and by her last will and testament bearing date on or about 5 Dec 1751 (after giving and devising unto her servant William Hopper for and during the term of his natural life all that cottage with the lodge and appurtenances in Trumpington as the same was then used or occupied by Thomas Morley and after devising unto Ann Tabraham and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life the cottage in Grantchester wherein she then lived) did give and devise all the rest of her estate at Grantchester and in Trumpington unto Sarah Peters her servant who then dwelt with her for and during the term of her natural life. And whereas the said William Hopper the tenant for life of the said cottage and also the said Ann Tabraham the tenant for life of the said cottage both died many years ago whereby the said coheiresses at law of Sarah Aungier became interested in and intitled unto the said two cottages.
