Notes for: Edward Preston

The 1832 and 1835 Poll Books for Trumpington have Edward Preston listed; he was also listed in Sun Street, Cambridge.

Cambridge Chronicle 8 Feb 1833:
CAUTION.
WHEREAS THOMAS PRESTON, of Newnham, an uncertificated BANKRUPT, has collected, and is endeavouring to collect, debts due to me for Gravel, &c. had from my Pits on the Hiils Road; I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE to all Persons that have had, or may have, Gravel, &c. from the said Pits, not to pay the said THOMAS PRESTON for the same, as, upon so doing, I shall take legal steps against such Persons to enforce the payment to me also.

In the Trumpington Inclosure Award (1809) he was awarded a new allotment of land in the north-eastern corner of the parish, where Trumpington House (178 Hills Road) now stands. Sold by his executors in 1847, probably to Stephen Adcock, who was living in Trumpington House with his family in 1851
