From the Huntingdon, Bedford & Peterborough Gazette, 14 Apr 1832:
At a Petty Sessions held at the Shire-hall in Cambridge, on Saturday last, Swan Ogle, of Trumpington, a licensed seller of beer by retail, was convicted in the penalty of £2 (being the lowest penalty which could be inflicted, in consequence of his general good character), and the costs of conviction, for suffering violent and quarrelsome conduct and gaming in his house and premises.

Cambridgeshire Sessions. (Concluded from our last.)
The quarter sessions for this county were held on Friday and Saturday last, before H. J. Adeane, Esq. M.P., Francis Pym jun. Esq. and other magistrates.
PRISONERS. (Before FRANCIS PYM jun. Esq.)
WM. STALLION, was charged with stealing 2 fowls the property of Swan Ogle, of Trumpington. - Not guilty.

Cambridge Independent Press 8 Dec 1855:
DARING BURGLARY. - Three notorious Barnwell thieves, named Bell, Shadbolt, and Groves, were brought up on remand, charged with having broken into and entered the house of Thomas Hagger, a shop-keeper, living at Shelford on Sunday evening, the 25th of November, and stealing therefrom cash, to the amount of £14, and a pair of Wellington boots.. . .
Swan Ogle, publican, Trumpington, stated that he saw on the evening of the robbery, about eight o’clock, Bell and Groves walking by the side of the brookway towards Cherryhinton. It was a moonlight night, and one of the prisoners bid witness "good night." - P.c. Long and Yardley deposed to pursuing the prisoners, and apprehending them, They were remanded till this day (Saturday) at twelve o’clock.
