Trumpington, near Cambridge, Dec. 14th, 1853.
I used the Economical Manure for mangel wurtzel, dibbled in 14 inches asunder, the last week in April. I put about half a hundredweight per acre [this quantity was insufficient. - B.C.] mixed with ashes, and the land was very wet during that time. The mangel wurtzel grew well at first, but withered away afterwards owing to the land being so very wet, therefore the crop was not good. I have no doubt that your Manure would answer as well as the superphosphate of lime, as I tried both on the same principle, and found them both equal in their results.
