Bury Free Press 9 Aug 1884:
Mr. Wilkerson, of Orwell, took advantage of the offer of 20 store lambs, Mr. Yarrow’s property, at 34s. each. Mr. Oakey, of Trumpington, bought 30 lambs, Mr. Symonds’s property, at 39s. and 41s, each.

Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire Reporter 1 May 1885:
GAME TRESPASS. - On Saturday last, at the Division Petty Sessions, Edward Hatley, labourer, of East-road, Cambridge, was charged with trespassing upon land in the occupation of Mr. Oakey at Trumpington, on the 11th ult., and also with assaulting Alfred Collier, gamekeeper to Mr. Pemberton. - Mr. Ellison appeared for the complainant. - Defendant, who had previously been convicted of similar offences, was fined 40s. and costs for trespass, and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, without the option of a fine, for assault.

Stamford Mercury 3 Sep 1886:
Mr. Scott offered 112 short wools, which sold at prices ranging from £6 to £9, the Duke of Manchester’s agents being among the buyers. - Mr. Oakey, of Trumpington, Cambs, sold 81 short wools, the average obtained being £7. Amongst the buyers were:- Mr. Macturk (8), Mr. Holmes (8), Mr. Johnson (2), Mr. Hanger (2), Mr. Whileman (2), Mr. Jarry, and Mr. Findlay, all at £8 each.
