Notes for: Agnes Elizabeth Hart

Widely reported nationally in June 1949: A mother and daughter and another woman were killed late last night (5th June) when a car, driven by the Hon. Gerald Vane, an undergraduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, mounted the pavement on a bend in Trumpington Road, Cambridge.
The car afterwards hit a lamp standard and regained the road with its offside front wheel wrenched off. It struck a cyclist, who escaped serious injury, though his machine was dragged under the car.
The dead are: Mrs Alice Peppercorn (69), a widow; her daughter, Miss Edna Lucy Peppercorn (39), and Miss Agnes Hart, aged about 60.
Mr Gerald Raby Vane, younger son of Lord Barnard, was born in 1926. The family home is at Raby Castle, Staindrop, Darlington, Co. Durham
