Stockman on Farm, with wife Annie and children Note (8) From Cambridge Independent Press, 31 Oct 1913: An unfortunate cow, which was running away from about 60 others while being driven along the Hills-road on Thursday evening, ran into a motor-car and died almost immediately from the injuries she received. The cattle were being driven along the Hills-road by John Flack, herdman to Mr Duke, of Trumpington. While passing over the bridge, a roan cow broke away from the others and ran back towards the town. In attempting to stop her, Flack was knocked over, but was not hurt. Opposite the gates of the Great Northern Railway yard the cow ran into a motor-car. The poor beast was badly injured, and died almost immediately, and was later taken away in a float sent by Mr Duke.
