City of London. Matric. Michs. 1875; Scholar and Exhibitioner; B.A. (8th
Wrangler) 1879; M.A. 1882. Fellow, 1879. Tutor and Lecturer in Mathematics until
1922. Rendered the College much valuable service in financial matters; as
steward, reorganised the administration of the kitchen and the accounts;
drastically cut down the high table menus - meeting the natural indignation for
this service with unfailing good humour. Member of the Teachers' Training
Syndicate; the Non-Collegiate Students' Board and the Cambridge Borough Council.
Known as a supporter of unpopular causes. Married and had issue. Died May 9,
1925, aged 68, at Calverts Cross, Jordans, Beaconsfield, Bucks. (R. F. Scott;
