"From the Daily Herald, 26 April 1935: The mystery death of a solicitor whose body was found lying near the footpath at Duke's Warren, a Surrey beauty spot near Dorking, will be investigated today by the Dorking coroner. The dead man, Mr Albert George Rickards Alexander, was until recently a partner in the firm of Squires and Co., solicitors, of Peas Hill, Cambridge. The partnership was dissolved last December. The body was found on Tuesday and police enquiries were made at Cambridge and Dorking. Recently Alexander obtained a sleeping draught prescription. After the dissolution of the Cambridge partnership Alexander obtained an appointment with Messrs Keith Erskine and Lawson, solicitors, of Hanover Square, W. He had been living at Greenford, Middlesex, and at Ealing." The West Sussex Gazette, 2 May 1935, carried a report of the coroner's findings. "A verict was recorded of death from a narcotic poison, self-administered while temporarily of unsound mind. . . Robert Lewis Alexander said that his brother was out of business, and had been very depressed on account of financial worry. . ."
