Event Notes Note (1) Nov 11 PEMBERTON Christopher son of Francis esq & Elizabeth Note (2) . . . I give and devise all that my freehold estate called Paradise situate and being in the parish of Grantchester in the said county of Cambridge with the appurtenances and also so much and such part of my copyhold estate at Trumpington in the said county of Cambridge which I lately purchased of Mr Cuming which is not comprised in the devise in favour of Walter Mansell next hereinafter contained unto the said Christopher Robert Pemberton the said Walter Hamilton Pemberton of Holt in the county of Norfolk Esquire the Reverend Stanley Pemberton Rector of Hallingbury in the county of Hertford Clerk and William Thrower of the town of Cambridge aforesaid gentleman their heirs and assigns to be by them settled conveyed and assured to for and upon the same uses trusts intents and purposes and with under and subject to the same powers provisoes and conditions as are in and by the will of Francis Charles James Pemberton late of Trumpington aforesaid Esquire deceased expressed and declared of and concerning the Manors estates and hereditaments thereby devised it being my intention that the said and hereditaments hereby devised shall go along with and form part of the Trumpington Estate I give and devise all that messuage garden buildings pasture land and premises situate in Trumpington aforesaid now in the occupation of Samuel Bebee with the appurtenances and also two acres of arable land adjoining thereto being part of the arable field there in my own occupation such two acres of arable land to be measured off in an easterly direction and to abut south upon land belonging to Mr Phillips to hold the same with the appurtenances unto and to the use of my Bailiff Walter Mansell and Mary his wife and there assigns for and during their respective natural lives and the life of the longer lived of them and from and after the decease of the survivor of them I give and devise the hereditaments lastly hereinbefore devised with the appurtenances unto and equally amongst all and every the children of the said Walter Mansell and Mary his wife who shall be living at the decease of the survivor of them and their respective heirs and assigns for ever to take and hold as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and in case either or any of such children shall die under the age of 21 years and without leaving lawful issue him or her surviving then I give and devise the part or share of him or her so dying of and in the said lastly devised hereditaments unto the survivors or survivor of them their his or her heirs and assigns for ever.
