Trumpington Local History Group Visit to the American Cemetery, 8 May 2014 |
Visit to the Cambridge American Cemetery, 8 May 2014 There were 20 participants at this visit, when Arthur Brookes gave an excellent introduction to the cemetery and its context within the American Battle Monuments Commission. This is a major site within the worldwide network of 25 cemeteries. After a briefing, we walked to the flagstaff and along the Wall of Missing to the Memorial building. We had a follow up visit to see the new Visitor Center in March 2015. For further information, see the American Battle Monuments Commission. |
