| Our Local History: What's the Evidence? 21 November 2013 The meeting included a series of presentations by Committee Members about sources of information. It was preceded by a brief presentation by the Mayor of Cambridge and the AGM. The City Council and local residents have received a national award for street naming and numbering. This recognises the Council's work with the Trumpington Residents' Association and the Trumpington Local History Group, who have supported the council by proposing names for the streets in the three new developments. The Mayor came to the beginning of the meeting to present a certificate to the local community. The presentations about sources of information included: Evidence of the early History of Trumpington: from Prehistory to the early 1800s (Andrew Roberts). Evidence for the History of Trumpington: 19th-20th Century (Howard Slatter). Evidence from postcards and other illustrations (Arthur Brookes). Evidence from personal recollections (Shirley Brown). |
