Dr Sam Lucy was the speaker at the Local History Group meeting at the Clay Farm Centre on 23 February 2023, when there were over 90 residents in the audience. Dr Lucy described the results of the excavation of the area of Trumpington Meadows to the south of the church. The excavation uncovered four burials dating from the 7th century, one of which included a bed burial of a female aged between 14 and 18 years, probably dating to the 660s-680s, with the finds including a gold and garnet cross and gold and garnet veil fastenings. Dr Lucy discussed this evidence and put it in the context of other bed burials from the period.

There is a report on the talk and the question and answer session.
