All That Glisters: Anglo Saxons, Beds and Gold
9 May 2019, Trumpington Village Hal l

Poster: Sheila Glasswell and Howard Slatter.

Alison Dickens from the Cambridge Archaeological Unit gave a talk to a packed hall about the excavations carried out on the Trumpington Meadows site before the start of the work on the housing development and the subsequent research into the evidence found on the site. Alison focused on the bed burial and the gold and garnet brooch, with analogies from the handful of other bed burials and crosses that have been found in England (Trumpington Cross). Alison showed us around the excavation in May 2011 and gave a previous talk to us in April 2013.
