Alison Dickens from the Cambridge Archaeological Unit gave a talk on 9 May 2019 to a packed Village Hall about the excavations carried out on the Trumpington Meadows site before the start of the work on the housing development and the subsequent research into the evidence found on the site. Alison focused on the bed burial and the gold and garnet cross (Trumpington Cross), with analogies from the handful of other bed burials and crosses that have been found in England. There is a summary of the talk.

Alison showed us around the excavation in May 2011 and gave a previous talk to the Group in April 2013.

There is a separate page about the Bed Burial and Trumpington Cross.
