Seven participants joined Howard Slatter on a walk in a wet and cool ‘summer’ evening. Starting in Hobson Square, Howard covered the area between Hobson’s Brook and the High Street, including the Brook; the evolution from farmland into housing on Clay Farm; street names; Long Road and its history; North Cottages and development; High Street; Alpha Terrace; Fawcett School; and tracks across the farmland.
