There were around 40 participants in the Village Hall for an excellent talk by Howard Slatter about the history of Hobson’s Conduit and the bringing of fresh water to Cambridge. Howard covered the length of the Conduit from Nine Wells to the Conduit Head and the network of waterworks within Cambridge and from the early proposals in the 16th century up to the present.
See Hobson’s Conduit: the First 400 Years for a summary of Howard Slatter’s talk.
